Mark Kelly on advertising, position-taking, and credit claiming!

It's important to let people know what you are representing and who you are to the world. With the coronavirus pandemic hitting the world recently, it was probably a better strategy to do the majority of the advertising online. Why? Advertising through billboards, outdoor campaigns, public speaking, volunteering, etc can result in more cases of the coronavirus. I have looked at other methods of advertising and social media is most likely to be the biggest source of advertising in modern times because Kelly would be able to make foreign relationships easier. Kelly is active on both his Twitter and Instagram accounts. His Twitter account has 492,100 followers and his Instagram account has 10,500 followers.

I was able to find Kelly's Senate Schedule through: https://www.kelly.senate.gov/schedule/ 

The schedule reveals when what, and who Kelly is traveling to and what kind of work he is doing. Kelly revealed his entire schedule because he wants to show the citizens of Arizona that he is committed to the transparency and accountability of the government. Mayhew talks about members of congress being single-minded people for reelection. From the senate schedule, I checked what kind of subjects and topics Kelly has been working on to see what his status is like. 

Below: These two topics are common to see in Kelly's senate schedule. There are other things that Kelly has done but these two frequently pop up the most in his schedule. This could prove Mayhew's theory.

 

Credit Claiming

Does Mark Kelly like to credit claims? The best way I could research and try to find this type of information would be from his social media. If anyone would want to credit a claim or announce that he or she has done something important, social media would be a great way to showcase it.

If we look at the pictures below: Kelly's credit claiming isn't aggressive. He has shown that he is supporting or making moves towards topics like global supply chain, reducing costs, bringing more jobs, and improving the lives of Arizonans. However, Kelly wasn't aggressive in claiming that he is handling these issues. Furthermore, Kelly has helped others. In the two pictures, we see that Kelly has supported Veora E . Johnson and Guion Bluford. He didn't credit claim these but he tried to let others acknowledge these two figures.  

Position Taking 

    Mayhew talks about how position-taking is public speaking with having a judgemental statement on topics that would be interesting for political figures/actors. Kelly has stated that he saw a rise in gas prices in Arizona so he wants to go after the root cause and make it lower for the citizens of Arizona. Kelly voiced his position on strengthing Arizona's economy by making better-paying jobs, a supportive workforce, and fixing supply chain issues for families. He also introduced a bill that would suspend federal gas tax for the rest of the year. According to Twitter, Kelly has been focusing on the economy because of fluctuations. He also wants to keep a high priority of supporting the Arizonans family.
