Past election, voting, reelection, major issues about Mark Kelly

2020 Election

In 2020, Mark Kelly (Democratic) won against Martha McSally (Republican) in the Senate special election in Arizona. 3,355,317 total votes were recorded. Kelly took 1,716,467 votes while McSally had 1,637,661. Kelly's majority vote margins were in several counties: Pima, Maricopa, and Coconino. In the 2020 election, Kelly raised $39 million while McSally raised $23 million during the Arizona Senate race.

Major Issues

These are some of the issues that Kelly is currently or has worked on.

General note: Since Mark Kelly has worked on many issues, I will only cover the topics that I find to be the most important out of his work. For ALL issues that Mark Kelly has worked on, this is a source of where you can find his views and ideas: https://www.ontheissues.org/Senate/Mark_Kelly.htm

 Abortion

    - Against making it harder for women to access healthcare

    - Supports women's rights to choose and gender equality.

Budget and Economy

    - Supports federal aid to states and cities due to the covid pandemic

    - Voted yes on the covid relief package for everyone.

    - Kelly supports ending the tax breaks for the super-wealthy.

Civil Rights

    - Kelly disagrees that LGBTQ is getting fired from their jobs because of the reasoning: Marriage.

    - He demands accountability for racism.

(Mark Kelly currently has no stance regarding Corporations)

Racial Crime

    - Kelly wants to address racial crime regarding the justice system that threatens Black lives.

    - Reform policy and NOT defund police departments (very interesting stance because many voters that have low income would prefer to defund police departments). Additionally, Kelly wants to support law enforcement which connects towards the reform policy.

(Mark Kelly currently has no stance regarding the use of drugs)

Please check out: https://www.ontheissues.org/Senate/Mark_Kelly.htm to find out more on Kelly's issues. He has worked and voiced his opinion on a lot more things education, environment, families, gun control, etc.

One of Kelly's important issues is gun control. Check out this video!

Reelection

Mark Kelly is running again and during the first quarter of 2021, the first reports of his campaign showed that he raised $4.4 million. His funding is gradually increasing more and more to prepare for the 2022 United States Senate election in Arizona on Nov 8, 2022. Mark Kelly is rejecting corporate PAC money.

Quote from Mark Kelly "This campaign is about the people of Arizona, not corporate PACs and the mess they've created in Washington. I won't take a dime of corporate PAC money, and I'll only answer to Arizonans." Kelly claims that partisanship keeps politicians from finding the appropriate solutions and that accountability should take place when needed.

It is too early to predict who will win because the majority of voters are still undecided? The previous election was counted at a little over 3 million votes. Therefore, we still need to be patient before we start giving proper predictions. The more votes there are, the easier it is to give an accurate prediction.
